Circuit Breakers

Circuit breakers are a type of switch designed to disrupt electrical current when an overload or short occurs. The circuit breakers carried at Del City are primarily automotive circuit breaker options, but can also be used in a variety of other electrical applications requiring circuit protection. Most DC circuit breaker options are thermally controlled, meaning during an over current condition, the additional current will cause excess heat to build up in the circuit breaker. With this excess heat, the breaker will trip, making it an essential safety component providing thermal overload protection to diverse applications including, marine, automotive, ambulance, fire equipment, portable generators, and other electrical applications. Available in Type 1 automatic reset, Type 2 modified reset and Type 3 manual reset, Del City has the largest selection of circuit breakers for your 12V electrical needs. Del City carries many types of circuit breakers ranging from 10A to 200A including: Hi-Amp panel or surface mount, mid-range panel or surface mount, stud mount or canned breakers, push button circuit breakers, ATO/ATC fuse style, Maxi and Mini fuse style circuit breakers, AGC fuse style circuit breakers and switch breakers. Characteristics differ across the circuit breakers offered, but all are single pole. The different characteristics of each of the types of circuit breakers provide you with different benefits for different applications that require a DC circuit breaker. Differences between each offering can include voltage range, amperage range, mounting style, compatibility and fuse blade types. The automotive circuit breaker variety offered by Del City allows the right protection needed for many different electrical application demands. The high amperage, mid-range and some low amperage breaker switches are designed to be panel mounted or surface mounted. Blade types are designed to be inserted into fuse panels and can upgrade the panel to circuit breaker protection with the same blade fuse configuration and size. With so many types of circuit breakers available, finding a breaker compatible to your application is easy. Some of the offerings below are specifically meant for wet environment or marine applications, while others are meant to be used as automotive circuit breaker switches. Many of the DC circuit breaker options offered are 12V circuit breaker switches. However, there are a variety of voltages available to meet the demands of multiple applications. Specific ratings can be found on each individual product line.
