Amalgamating Cold Shrink Tape
Versatile Uses and Moisture Sealing Benefits of Cold Shrink Tape
Cold shrink tape was originally developed for power and distribution cables but it's also used for bundling, underground wiring, pipe leaks and other general applications. Cold shrink tape is excellent for moisture sealing in electrical installations, such as covering cable lugs, splices and termination.
- Ideal for covering cable lugs, splices and termination in industrial and marine applications. Excellent resistance to water and ozone.
- When the tape is applied with a high degree of stretch (2 to 3 times for stretch) within two to three minutes, it has already begun to amalgamate.
- The tape is NOT resistant to hydrocarbon type solvents, oils and greases.
- Easy to handle and apply tape form. The product is interleaved with a disposable plastic liner.
- Standard operating temperature: ‐40°C to +100°C.
- The tape will remove cleanly when cut, allowing it to be used as temporary insulation or protection.
- Compatible with a wide range of rubber and plastic dielectric cable insulation. These include polyethylene, cross‐linked polyethylene, ethylene propylene rubber, PVC, butyl and neoprene.
- The tape amalgamates rapidly when applied under tension to provide a void‐free homogeneous wrapping, without the need for external heat or pressure.
- For jointing and repairing a wide range of solid dielectric power cables up to 132 kV.
