Grounded Intermittent Plastic Solenoid - SPST, 12V 600/200A
A 12 volt DC insulated intermittent solenoid switch is commonly used in heavy electrical motor applications, such as starters, plows and winches. Solenoids are a current carrying coil of wire, wrapped around an iron core that when energized, creates a magnetic field which products a high current and force. This makes solenoids very advantageous because it allows for a low input while generating a larger output, as in the case of a starter solenoid. This solenoid switch features a single pole single throw actuation and is advantageous from using relays because it generates a larger output while allowing a low input.
