Cole Hersee Battery Isolators ensure reliable performance in vehicles with dual battery systems by preventing the battery with a higher charge from draining into one with a lower charge, helping to avoid electrical system failure. These isolators electrically separate the batteries while allowing them to be charged simultaneously from a single power source, providing efficient and safe charging. Designed for general-purpose use, they are compatible with negative ground alternator systems ranging from 12V to 36V DC and support alternator outputs from 70 to 250 amps.
The amp rating of each isolator corresponds to the maximum alternator output, while the "per leg" rating specifies the maximum current delivered to each battery—half the total alternator rating.
Built with embedded electronic components for protection against adverse conditions and an integral heat sink for effective heat dissipation, these isolators are durable and suitable for tough environments. Please note that Cole Hersee battery isolators are designed for negative ground systems and are not recommended for self-energizing alternators.
